Construction

On a building job, the morning headcount decides the day. If the formwork crew is two short at seven, the pour moves and the concrete truck waits. PeopleMuster shows you who punched in, who's on leave and who was booked on each job. You know before the first lift of the day.

Early starts on site, office hours in the yard

Your firm runs two working days side by side. Your crews start early and finish in the afternoon, while estimators and project managers keep office hours. Each is a named shift with its own start and end, assigned per person from a start date.

Long summer days and a push before handover stretch the site window for a few weeks. You assign the longer shift with a duration, and the assignment history records who changed it and when.

Your late minutes read against each person's own window. A labourer arriving at eight on a seven o'clock start is an hour late, while an estimator arriving at the same time is early.

Punching in at the site office or from a browser

Put a ZKTeco fingerprint terminal in the site office or at the yard gate, on the local network there. PeopleMuster reaches it by IP and pulls new punches every 30 minutes on weekdays over port 4370. Nothing is installed on the device.

Fingerprints stay on the terminal. PeopleMuster receives only who punched and when, and your attendance header shows how long ago the last sync ran.

Every crew member has a device user on the terminal, mapped to their PeopleMuster account. Your mapping page counts the unmapped users, so a new labourer who hasn't been linked shows up on their first morning.

Staff who don't pass a terminal use browser check-in, once an admin switches it on. The card opens inside a window around their shift, and a missed window becomes a manual punch request that a manager approves.

The number site managers argue about

Heads on the job this morning, against heads planned. It's the gap that moves your pour, your crane booking or your handover date.

Your plan sits in resource allocation. Group it by project, and each job shows who's booked on it for each day. Approved leave and company holidays are already off your grid.

Today's attendance is the other half. You get present, absent, partial and leave counted separately, and a late-arrivals filter shows who came in after the start. Your leave view lists who's out today and who's away in the next seven days, so a short crew is visible on Friday.

Hours over the week matter as well. Your working-hours histogram shows a crew whose days keep running long, and hours short against the period flags the opposite.

New starters need an induction before they touch the site. Build your site induction as a checklist template, run it against each new person, and your supervisor sees which steps are still open.

Questions people ask

Where does the fingerprint terminal go?

In the site office or at the yard gate, wherever your crews pass at the start. PeopleMuster connects to the ZKTeco terminal by its IP on the local network and pulls new punches every 30 minutes on weekdays. Fingerprints stay on the terminal, and only who punched and when reaches PeopleMuster.

How do we see who's short on a job tomorrow?

Open resource allocation grouped by project and read tomorrow's column for that job. Approved leave and holidays are already off the grid, and the leave view lists who's away in the next seven days.

What does it cost for a firm of sixty?

$3 per person per month, the same rate for site crews and office staff. Every module is included, there's no setup fee, and the first 14 days are free with no card.
