SOP software that runs every process to the last step
SOP software stores your standard operating procedures as step lists and tracks each run of them. Onboarding a new joiner is the same eleven steps every time, and the eleventh is the one that gets missed. In PeopleMuster a template becomes a running process with a name on it.
Templates are written once and grouped into categories. A template is a list of steps that somebody has to resolve.
Running a template creates a process against a subject. The subject is a person or a project, which is why the same machinery handles a new joiner and a new account.
A running process shows its state as Not Started or In Progress, its progress as resolved steps out of the total, who it is assigned to, who started it, and how old it is.
Filters cover the employee, the template, the assignees and the project. So a manager can ask which processes are open on their team rather than reading the whole queue.
Off-boarding and post-offboarding both run this way in production, which is the awkward case: the person has left and the steps still need finishing.
Splitting those two is the trick. Some steps happen on the last day and some happen a month later, and one long list buries the late ones. Two templates keep both honest.
Price matters here too. On their own pricing pages in September 2026, SweetProcess costs $82.50 a month for up to 10 members billed yearly, and Waybook Core is $99 a month on annual billing for 20 seats. What it needs before it works
- Somebody has to write the template first. Write the steps the way your best person does them, and every later run follows that version.
- Categories want deciding early. Regrouping templates later is fiddly once processes are running against them.
- Assignees have to be real members. A step with nobody's name on it is the step that does not happen.
- The checklists permission governs who can author templates and who can only work through them.
