How do I switch to PeopleMuster from BambooHR?
Migrating from BambooHR to PeopleMuster is mostly a data-mapping job. You move your employee list with reporting lines, your time-off types and balances, and then add the client projects BambooHR never held. PeopleMuster loads all of it with you during setup, or through its CSV importer, at $3 per person per month with every module included.
In a BambooHR migration, your data is the easy part. Most of the effort goes on decisions: which leave types to keep, how balances carry over, and who approves what.
BambooHR's own pricing page, read in September 2026, lists Core at $10 per employee per month, Pro at $17 and Elite at $25. A company with 25 employees or fewer pays a flat rate from $250 a month instead.
PeopleMuster has one line on the bill. You pay $3 for each person, from the first one, with no flat floor and no tier.
Begin with your employee records. Each person needs a department, a job title and a manager, and those manager links draw your org chart for you.
Time off is the step to get right. Recreate each leave type with its annual quota and its paid, unpaid or encashable flag. Then load every person's remaining balance as of the day you switch.
Projects are new ground. BambooHR is an HR system and doesn't hold client work, so you'll load your projects and clients from wherever they live today. After that, your people log hours against them and the capacity plan shows who is free.
Leave and delivery now share a database. When a manager approves a day off, that day leaves the capacity plan at once, before anyone books work into it.
Every change after the move is on record. The activity log keeps each edit with its before and after values, so a question about a balance next spring has an answer.
