What does a stale project warning mean?
A staleness warning counts the days since the last recorded meeting on a project and flags it once that gap passes a threshold the company sets. The default threshold is fourteen days. A project showing no meeting in thirty-six days has not gone wrong by itself: the warning says nobody has talked about it recently.
Silence is the most reliable early signal of a project drifting, and the least likely to be reported by anybody.
A project in trouble produces escalations. A project quietly slipping produces nothing at all, which is exactly why it goes unnoticed until a deadline arrives.
Counting days since the last meeting turns that silence into something visible. No status update is needed, because the absence of activity is the signal.
The threshold is configurable rather than fixed, which it has to be. Fourteen days is a long time on a weekly-cadence project and unremarkable on a long build with a monthly review.
Meetings reach the project automatically where the meeting integration is connected. Recordings and transcripts import and are filed against the project they belong to, so the counter reflects what happened rather than what somebody logged.

Check whether the meeting actually landed on the right project before chasing anybody. A misfiled meeting is a more common cause of a stale flag than real neglect.
