How does PeopleMuster report billable work?
PeopleMuster flags every project as billable or non-billable, and fixed price or hourly, then reports logged hours against those flags. Delivery leads see utilisation by person, project and department, and a capacity grid with leave already taken out. They also get week-over-week trends they can send to Slack in one click.
A delivery lead needs two answers every week. Who is overloaded, and where did the hours go?
Projects carry the labels that answer the second. Billable or non-billable. Fixed price or hourly. Both filter the project list and the capacity grid.
Timesheets carry the hours. People log time by project each day, and approvals move each sheet from draft to submitted to reviewed.
The reports turn that into utilisation. Total hours, utilisation percentage and average daily hours. Breakdowns by project, by department and by sheet status. A daily chart stacked by project, a weekly trend and a week-over-week comparison.
The capacity grid answers the first question. People against days, hours in each cell, with under, partial, full and over bands, and leave and holidays marked before anyone plans against them.
Managers get the full delivery picture without seeing what anyone is paid. Salaries are not part of the timesheet at all.
One click sends the utilisation report to a Slack channel, so the Monday numbers are in front of the team without a meeting.
