Can I see who else is off?

PeopleMuster shows who else is off in three places. The dashboard counts who is out of office today. A leave panel lists who is on leave now, what is pending and the next seven days. The capacity grid is the shared team time-off calendar: each person's month, day by day, with leave marked L and holidays marked H.

A shared team time-off calendar answers one question before you book anything: who's around that day? It only works if your whole team reads the same source, and that source changes the moment leave is approved. With a spreadsheet or a separate calendar, you fail that second test, because someone has to copy every approval across by hand.

In PeopleMuster, your calendar and your leave records are the same data. When you approve leave, it empties that person's capacity plan immediately. You see the gap on the grid as soon as a manager says yes, with nothing to copy and nothing to forget.

Open the capacity grid and you'll get a row per person across the days of the month, with a week view beside it. Each cell holds the hours you've planned for that person on that day. Leave shows as L and company holidays as H. That way you can tell a closed office from an absent colleague at a glance.

Each day is also banded as under, partial, full or over against the expected working day. A plain calendar can't give you that. Two people away on a Thursday is fine if your team is quiet. If your team is already banded as over, it's a problem to solve before Thursday comes.

Need a quick check? Open the leave panel's Today's Info view. It shows who's on leave now, the requests still pending, the next seven days and the current month. Your dashboard adds the out-of-office count for the whole organisation, next to team members and active projects.

Pending requests belong in the picture too. If you review a request, you can check the grid for an overlap before approving it, while there's still time to move a date.

Your shared calendar should show the dates, not the reason. You need to know a colleague is away on Thursday. You don't need to know why. PeopleMuster's planning views show who is away and when, while the leave type and any note stay in the leave record.

Who sees what follows the role each person holds. PeopleMuster ships 5 roles and 64 permissions. You can also build custom roles, so access matches how your company actually works.

Booking a client workshop or a release that needs several people? Open the capacity grid in week view first and check the days you need. Company holidays come from the holiday calendar your admin keeps, so everyone plans around the same closed days.

How do I make a shared team time-off calendar?

Keep one source that updates when leave is approved, and let everyone read it. In PeopleMuster that source is the capacity grid. Approved leave appears on it straight away, marked L, beside company holidays marked H, so there's nothing to copy into a second calendar.

Can my team see why someone is off?

PeopleMuster's planning views show who's away and on which dates. The leave type and any detail stay in the leave record, which each person sees according to the permissions of their role. Access is set per role across PeopleMuster's 64 permissions.

How far ahead can I see who's off?

A full month on the capacity grid, with a week view beside it. A leave panel also summarises the next 7 days and the current month, and you can step through the year on the leave screen.
